Support precedes change

Private Sessions

Alice offers three different kinds of private sessions, depending on a client’s need, interest and requirements.

Personal:

Sessions are designed to support individuals deepening their embodiment through an experiential process that is creative and transformative. Alice is skilled in enabling clients to learn how to address patterns that underlie physiological difficulties and pain. As part of this process, sessions address joint and muscle pain, organ distress and long standing health difficulties that impact well-being. The approach and learning these sessions offer provides the support for individuals to engage with their bodymind and discover the vitality of living a spirited life.
Sessions are also valuable for professionals wanting to deepen their understanding, awareness and knowledge of somatic practice and its impact on the whole person in the therapeutic context. The practice begins with a personal embodied process.

Initial Session: $200 x 1.5 hours
Further Sessions:
1 hour
Cost: $150 x 1 Session
$700 x 5 Sessions

Supervision:

To maintain professional standing as Somatic Movement Therapists & Educators, it is critical to have supervision. Sessions focus on the direct concerns a practitioner may have in their client/practitioner relationships. Supervision offers practitioners the opportunity to continue their development and understandings of the creative process and to integrate new material and insight. The sessions may involve dialogue, moving and hands-on practice.

Time: 1 hour
Cost: $175

Mentoring:

These sessions provide graduate Somatic Movement Therapists & Educators (SME/T’s) the opportunity to identify specific foci and application with their professional practice. Alice brings her long practice as an artist and somatic practitioner to these sessions, attuning to the unique skills, strengths and gifts of each practitioner client. Sessions may involve their particular approach to methodology and teaching style. Guidance will be given with regard to class planning, somatic research, practical advice and resources.

The understandings present in this exchange, enable Alice to transmit her most refined knowledge, contributing to the continuing education, developing evolution and inspired knowledge making for the practitioner client. Sessions may involve a range of different somatic modalities: dialogue, moving and hands-on practice.

Time: 1 hour
Cost: $200

An embodied philosophy:

The healing process is a creative collaboration. Alice’s role is to guide - listening and following her clients’ emergent feeling, thought and action. Private sessions are an opportunity to discover intimacy, purpose and meaning through a practice of embodiment. This approach begins from the premise that we are relational beings in dynamic engagement with the world and others. Through experiential learning we develop appreciation of the inherent pleasure, wisdom and guidance our body offers. Sessions offer the space for this deep satisfying work.

What happens in a session?

Body-Mind Centering® sessions use a dynamic combination of touch, movement and imagery to release tension and support structural and functional integration. Subtle and sophisticated techniques are used to re-pattern bodymind connections, enhance movement awareness and improve postural tone. This somatic approach offers realistic and applicable practices for everyday life.

A session may include:

  • Hands On Bodywork

  • Movement

  • Experiential Imagery

  • Anatomical Illustrations and Models

  • Playful Props

  • Dialogue

The skills, techniques and awareness acquired during a session can be applied in everyday life. Through the integration of life experiences, and an understanding of their origins and expression, we develop empathy and compassion. This somatic practice supports clients find balance and creativity in their lives.

Alice invites you to engage with the pleasure of living a wholehearted life.

Alice sees private clients in Melbourne, as well as Sydney and Perth when she works interstate. She also offers sessions online.

The process of transformation requires rigour, courage and compassion. I am engaged in working with these qualities in my practice as a Body-Mind Centering® Practitioner.

My engagement with BMC has been life-changing. Alice’s gentle and respectful guidance has helped me re-enter my body to understand the somatic dissonance I’ve lived with for decades and helped me re-integrate my trauma experience. It has been a profound and deeply moving process.
